Stop Abuse
Ways we can all help stop animal abuse and cruelty

We here at Rustic Ranch Tack make it our goal and cause to help bring awareness and knowledge to stop cruelty to animals of all kinds, wheher they be dogs, cats, horses, birds or reptiles.  They don't have a voice.  It is up to us to be their voice for them and protect them.

Hi, I'm Dakota. I'm lucky. I have a loving home. But many of my friends are not so fortunate. I would like to share with you some ideas and suggestions on how you can help me and all of my animal friends from being hurt or killed needlessly.

Not everyone has the time or money to volunteer or send donations to the numerous organizations, rescues and shelters currently doing incredible work to help save millions of animals.

This is a list of suggestions that each of us can do within our own means to help towards the goal of animals no longer being abused.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First and foremost, if you see or know of abuse happening to any animal, please don't turn the other way and ignore it. It won't go away. Pick up the phone. Call your local animal shelter, ASPCA unit, or humane society and do something right away. By doing nothing, we are contributing to the problem.
ASPCA
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has extensive information about what each of us can do to stop and prevent all kinds of abuse and cruelty to all animals. Also included in this site is information relating to the awareness of the senseless and inhumane slaughtering of horses not only in this country, but also horses being exported abroad for the purpose of slaughter. In the face of so many unwanted horses being turned out into the wild, now more than ever is the time to help horse rescues and sanctuaries take in these unwanted horses rather than allowing them to go slaughter. The ASPCA has vast information regarding government legislation as well as rescuing horses in natural disasters, stopping abuse, news and editorials, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) information, and more.
www.EquineRescue.com
EquineRescue.com is a wealth of informational links relating to horse rescues, rehabilitation, legislation, adoption, slaughter, and more. Very comprehensive and well-organized lists of links to information all over the country.
THE ANIMAL RESCUE SITE
The Animal Rescue Site
The Animal Rescue Site is affiliated with numerous shelters across the country. Every click on this logo generates income for them, which they use to help feed millions of animals needing help in shelters. It's free for you to do and benefits the animals.
Volunteer your time and/or talent to a local worthy rescue. Many rescues need help not only with donations and feeding and cleaning up after animals, they need help with fund raising, web design of their web sites to promote their cause, posting signs and advertising locally to make the community aware of them and their needs. Sometimes helping with accounting and balancing their books can be a tremendous help to keep their doors open.
Whatever your expertise, if you have a love for animals, search on the web for rescues and shelters near you. Contact them and ask them how you can use your knowledge, ability and talent to help them.
If you have any suggestions, we would like to hear from you.  Suggestions will be added to this list.
Together, we can all make a difference.
Please use this form to send your suggestion to us.  We will not publish your name or email address, only your suggestion.
